I think I have damaged cartilage or tendon in my knee. I can not stand on it, walk on it or bend it without excruciating pain for a few days now. I went to the doctors and was seen by a nurse who had a room upstairs. I told her how much pain I was in and I would find the stairs either very painful or impossible, but still she made me climb a set of old wooden stairs to her room. When I say climb I really mean drag myself up using the bannister while crying with pain at every step which took a good few minutes. I am 65 and feel this was not the way to treat anyone!

Please write to the practice manager. That’s terrible and yes unfair

ecuse · 23/04/2023 10:21

I agree that's awful and I would raise it with the practice manager. Were they apologetic when you got up there and they saw what was wrong?

KaftanKate · 23/04/2023 10:29

Heartless. Did her attitude improve at all, after seeing you suffering?

Sounds agonising, hope you get some effective pain relief asap.

KarmaStar · 23/04/2023 10:35

Yanbu.complain.If you had been in a wheelchair what would the nurse have done?
Hope the pain has been reduced greatly.

tailinthejam · 23/04/2023 10:42

Totally unfair and unreasonable of them to expect you to do that. What was the diagnosis?

PauseTheRain · 23/04/2023 12:22

Ffs, that's not right at all.

ReadersD1gest · 23/04/2023 12:23

No, that's a disgraceful way to treat anybody. Complain to the practice manager.

snowandshowers · 23/04/2023 14:27

No there was no apology and she just looked at my knee and said she would book an x ray, she didnt even touch me! I will complain to the practice manager as I am in even more pain today which I am sure is due to the stairs. I do not attempt the stairs at home as it is too painful.
