Paranormal stuff but is it coincidence ?

I sometimes stay Friday and Saturday at my partners great nans house who passed away 14 months ago now. This early morning around 2.30pm I smelled a strong perfume smell just like hers but nothing could indicate it was. It lasted minutes and I was wide awake not imagining it, a few weeks ago my partner and I were watching a film and suddenly a bag moved just like that 😬 my partner was like did you see that? I said no but I did hear it and saw out of the corner of my eyes. No fans on either nothing lol. He said it was very cold a few weeks when he went upstairs for a wee even though downstairs was hot. Is it mad that her energy could still be around? If just silly coincidence?

I’m more intrigued why you and your partner stay at his deceased great grandmothers house every Friday and Saturday?!

He inherited the house

I absolutely believe it's possible that it's her. People will come along and tell you there's a reasonable explanation and that there's no such thing as ghosts/spirits etc. They will even be rude about it. We have paranormal goings on in our (very old) house. It doesn't scare us at all.

so you did see it?

I absolutely believe it, our last house was full of paranormal happenings and our current house has also had a few things that I can’t explain, like the piano playing on its own (just a few random notes, not actual music!) and the dial on the washing machine changing mid cycle- it has to be physically turned and can’t just be bumped accidentally, plus I was nowhere near it at the time and was home alone.

A box or draw or something that had her perfume in may have been opened. Like when you unscrew a lid and the smell overpowers. Bags rustling can be because of draughts, my house has significant differentials in downstairs and upstairs temperatures. I am not a disbeliever but those are plausible explanations plus I think when people have had a recent death they look for signs even if it’s subconscious and they are unaware.

It’s like visiting a place you know has a history it can play in the mind. it’s when you go somewhere that isn’t spooky, no known history, no recent bereavement.

I rented a new build house when I relocated years ago, lovely little house but the feeling of being watched and lots of sighting things out of the corner of my eye. Underneath the sofa once there was massive thump like someone had punched the bottom. We moved shortly afterwards as were buying our first house. Years later I found out that the little close of houses had been on the site of a factory that had burned down. Very weird.

Could have been something settling inside the bag after it had been previously moved, or something uncrumpling which had previously been crumpled. Tissue type paper can do this as can cellophane. It can be unnerving when you hear noises from a waste bin and when you look it’s a slowly uncrumpling crisp packet.

Was the bedroom you slept in previously your partner’s great nans? If so the perfume can also be explained - it might have got on a carpet or rug before great Nan died and friction or temperature change causing the release of the fragrance.

I believe it.
All my life my nan and grandad told me about the woodpecker that comes in their garden and tries to eat the baby birds in the nest boxes. I had never seen it until the first time I went to her house after she died. After 25 years of going to that house and sitting in that garden every week I'd never once seen the woodpeckers. But the week she died I saw one just sat on the fence.

My grandad loved his garden and lined the while thing with fruit trees. The year my nan died there were barely any apples or pears. Despite there being loads and loads to pick every year since I can remember. She died in the beginning of spring and there were hardly any buds or blossoms resulting in barely any fruit. I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.
I've picked apples from that garden every year since I was a child and there were buckets and buckets full apart from the one year she died. Plenty before and plenty after.

The problem with your washing machine could be caused by electrical noise or transient voltage/frequency changes, such as can happen when a microwave switches on or off elsewhere in your house. This can affect appliances that don't even have to be physically wired in the same circuit. There will be an electrical noise filter in the washing machine which protects the washer's circuit boards from power surges and spikes - if it's faulty it could be causing the cycle to advance erratically.

I live in a new build, on what was previously a fruit garden. Last night while I watched tv a massive fir cone (from a basket on the hearth) leapt out of the basket and rolled into the middle of the floor. No one else around, and I would have seen any prior movement from, eg, a mouse. I don’t think it was a ghost.
