Passport - EU travel

Shamelessly posting for traffic. I need a collective reassurance that it will be ok.

Travelling to France in a few months for a week (July). My passport was issued in on 2nd September 2013. So when I depart the UK , my passport was issued within the last 10 years. My passport expires in June 2024

I guess I just want to check that the 3 months you need on your passport doesn't also need to be within the 10 year limit. It's just the departure from the Uk that needs to be inside the 10 years. Tying myself up in knots!

Thanks

The 2 qualifications are independent of each other so for the date you depart to the EU your passport has to be less than 10 years old (look at issue date - your passport is ok in that respect as you depart before September 2023)

When you leave you need 3 months remaining (look at the actual expiry date which is June 2024)

The 3 months remaining does not need to be within the new 10 year expiry given by your issue date

This is correct! (Retired senior travel industry.)

Had a similar scenario - just renewed passport to eliminate the worry
