Would you say 6pm to 8pm is a reasonable or unreasonable time for a 4 year olds birthday party at a play centre?

It is a bit late but I would probably still go. Let the kiddos run their wiggles out and then after the party, pop them into their pjs in the toilet and let them fall asleep on the way home then just lift them into their beds?

FerretFarm · 09/06/2023 23:24

If it doesn't work for you then say no.

It does seem late!

Newmum738 · 09/06/2023 23:31

Too late!

Kitkatcatflap · 09/06/2023 23:55

Way too late

MyFavouriteKindOfBalloon · 10/06/2023 00:00

Ridiculous

Glitterandmud · 10/06/2023 00:02

I'd go but do pjs and teeth there so straight to bed when you get in. My kids are still up by 8 though so the drive home and tiring them out at soft play would actually be a positive fpr me...

BodyKeepingScore · 10/06/2023 00:17

Unreasonable and I'd turn down the invitation tbh.

A bit unusual but my DGCs bed time is anywhere between 9.30 and 10 pm so she would still be running around having a ball and she’s only nearly 3. lol

SimonsCow · 10/06/2023 00:39

I wouldn’t go. DD (5) has been to a couple of 4-6 parties and even that is quite late. 6.30 by the time she gets in. She’s all hyped up and probably wants more food as a sandwich and cakes does seem to her like she’s had dinner.

MRex · 10/06/2023 04:53

Much too late for us; destroys dinner, sleep, my evening and the next day when exhausted. Some kids don't "just sleep in", they become whiny sad tired ones. Worth it for a major event, but not for another kid's party. That said, at least 4 kids we know seem to be up until past 9 regularly, so it might work for them.

LuvSmallDogs · 10/06/2023 06:17

For me, it would depend how far away it is.

I don't drive, and buses tend to go "funny" (aka get taken off the schedule without showing on the website) after 20.00, so if we needed to bus there it would be a no.

If we could walk there, I'd take my 4y/o, possibly with his brother's buggy if it was a long walk as he would be knackered at the end.

No. It's too late. 11am best time for that age. I'd turn a 4-6 pm party down. You have children saying their hungry till food put out
