Someone's taken credit for anonymous treat!

Quick silly one but not sure what to do.

Friend has had a hard time so I've sent them a cream tea type surprise treat. Left the card anonymous but she finds it difficult to receive without reciprocating and I wanted her to have something just for her with no strings, to cheer her up.

She posts it on social media, another Friend (I don't know) comments, saying enjoy, glad you like, you deserve it type thing

My friend says ahhhh was it you, youre amazing

Other friend says wink wink it's anonymous so I guess you'll never know

Now, to me there alluding it was then. Taking all the bloody credit. I know I didn't send it for credit or even thanks but I'm a little pissed off!

Think this has been suggested further down ... but If this one comes up on the MN Facebook page I'm sooooo tempted to tag friend and say

If I was your friend, I would be tempted to not mention the cream tea at all at work and wait for it to be mentioned by her/ someone else ...and then say 'but you didn't send it' with a confused face.

This is the best suggestion.

Bloody love this. Passive aggressive, anonymous and totally up my street.

Years ago I had a neighbour that parked like total shit in the shared parking for our flats. Being the no-nonsense sort, I did what any right thinking person does, gritted my teeth, and changed the name on my router to "you park like my nan".

If I were your friend, I would end it now by editing her post to "Thanks to x for the treat!" Stop it developing further and humiliating the other person. Yes, they are an arse for going along with it but I wouldn't string it out.
