To order a takeaway?

I’m on a diet as I’m overweight. I’m feeling hungry but don’t have anything in aside from ice lollies, frozen veg, oat milk and cheese lol. I was going to go food shopping after work but was faffing and left it too late.

I had a banana and a feta/watermelon/cucumber salad earlier today.

would you order a takeaway or just wait until tomorrow to eat? All the takeaway places open at this hour are unhealthy, waiting until tomorrow would mean I could eat something decent.

Have some cheese and going forward up your protein intake.

UndercoverCop · 21/04/2023 23:33

It's late to be eating take away if you're trying to lose weight. I say this as someone who has lost 4 stone since last summer and have another 1.5-2 to go.
You must have something in the house, toast? Cereal? Even a sandwich anything is going to be better than a takeaway

HighInfidelity · 21/04/2023 23:33

Is a banana and small salad all you’ve had all day? Get the takeaway if it is, that’s barely any food.

Motheranddaughtertotwo · 21/04/2023 23:34

I would have cheese on toast, it’s better than a take away and will feed you enough to sleep.

UmbilicusSuperficialis · 21/04/2023 23:37

Make one of those fortune teller things out of some A4 and ask it what to do? Or peruse the other current takeaway thread of about 800 posts?

But seriously, just get a simple lowish calorie takeaway. That’s the compromise.

Indian - tandoori chicken
Chinese - sweet and sour chicken or chow mein
Turkish - chicken kebab

None of those are going to send you very far wrong.

CheersForThatEh · 21/04/2023 23:39

Its half past 11, I'd go to sleep.

ThinWomansBrain · 21/04/2023 23:43

can you get a supermarket delivery instead of a takeaway?
eggs or soup?
as others have said, v late to eat a takeaway

CatchYouOnTheFlippetyFlop · 21/04/2023 23:43

Don't do it!! You will regret it tomorrow.

Have something else. Anything else. Bowl of cereal. Piece of toast. Tin of soup?

Rainpigeon · 21/04/2023 23:46

Don't eat a takeaway at this time of night, make a small snack and go to bed.

Cantstaystuckforever · 21/04/2023 23:47

Pan fry some of the frozen veg and top with a bit of grated cheese? Not the most balanced meal ever, but if that's all you've had today it's very little and the veg is good for nutrients and some carbs and the fat in the cheese will fill you up a bit. Or oat milk plus some cocoa powder for a hot chocolate?

What happens for breakfast? Surely you've got some oats or flour and eggs for pancakes or something?

Aww thanks. I’ve decided on no takeaway. Tbh it’s the reason why I put on weight.

I’ve been able to book a Sainsbury’s delivery slot for first thing tomorrow morning. I have ordered more cupboard essentials, I definitely haven’t been keeping track of what needs to be replaced. Thought there was cereal but nope!

If u were going to have a take away, get a chicken shish kebab and salad , no sauce, no pitta.. just like a grilled chicken salad... lovely!
