AIBU to think i can make £60 for food and petrol last until 1 May?

Planning to put £20 in the car. The rest I will use to buy food for family of four. Two adults, two small children.

Larder and freezer reasonably well stocked.

Just need daily bits like bread and apple's etc

First of May a BH so perhaps you will get paid on the preceding friday?28th?
Our company pays us early like above and hopefully yours will.
Otherwise, yes it is doable.there's lots of basics that are nutritional and filling, baked potatoes with beans or tuna with salad, omelettes, pasta, sausage bake, roasted vegetables etc.
good luck.

Yes I think it should be ok, I am doing similar after an unexpected massive household expense. I have meal planned but using freezer/cupboard supplies as the main basis of all meals. Making shopping lists and trying to get yellow sticker items for things I needed to buy anyway (milk mostly)

Just check things like standing orders / direct debits so you don't get any nasty surprises. Our account was suddenly debited £40 for school lunches X2 as I'd forgotten we'd set up Parentpay to auto top up.
I'm batch cooking loads of vegetarian dishes with cans of beans / chickpeas / lentils that we have in the cupboard. Main issue is I have slightly fussy children but worked out some cheap ideas for them that won't break the bank too, mostly involving potatoes, cheese and beans with some fresh veg/tomatoes on the side.
