I’m at a stage where I need to rent an office as working from home every day is not working for me. However offices within 10 miles from me are incredibly limited. I have only managed to get viewings at two in the last five weeks!
i have found one that I really liked and they said they were happy to consider me as a tenant. However they asked for a deposit of nine months rent + VAT, in case of damages.
At my last office (closed when I moved) I had to pay two months rent in advance + a deposit of six weeks rent without VAT. And even then I thought that was a lot!
Am I really out of touch or is this a bit absurd?
