Life360 and have concerns

My Dh works 2 hours away from home. He often has meetings all day long and meets clients on way to the office etc and throughout the day.

This morning he left for work an hour early as had a breakfast conference.

This pm I checked Life360 to see my dd, and looked at Dh also. For context, I’ve had this app for a few days so not a stalker or wierd by any means. I’m just new to it.

He was in some random field for an hour this morning and then at the conference centre from 10am.

I asked him tonight when the conference was etc and he said ‘8am, horrid early start this morning!’

Life360 doesn’t match this and alarm bells are ringing

I regularly use Google Maps for navigation (mainly to avoid traffic) on longer drives - every so often it thinks I'm driving in a field next to the motorway because of a GPS glitch. I used to use Life360 and had the same issue (so switched to Google because we all have it on our phones anyway) and none update live - there is always a delay to save battery power.

Thanks all.

yes I can see it could be a blip and that’s the most likely reason. It actually gave a time of 56 mins of being in the field. Then it gave another location (the conference), 20 mins away. But with no transport between the two.

thank you all. I’m not great at technology and it’s good to understand the app as my daughters are now growing up.

I stopped using it as it was inaccurate. Showed my daughter at my partner's house when she was at her own house and he was at mine! Quite hilarious to see how inaccurate it was.

But 20 mins away?

And I do trust him. But my confidence is lacking for other reasons which is why seeing this tonight has made me feel wobbly

You clearly don't. Particularly when an obvious error is making alarm bells ring. Just talk to him

BoogieBoogieWoogie · 19/04/2023 23:27

Also for info, you can be part of a family group but have your location permissions off. I do this - so I can track the kids but I’m not trackable. Just saying in case you both got the app purely for the kids

Is the field next to the road en route to his office? It might have been that he had no signal or phone died or something weird. I get weird glitches sometimes.

According to Life360, for the last three years I live part time in the cemetery two roads along. There was another time that I went to my local shopping centre and apparently I was floating in the Thames all day according to my sister.

It definitely blips!

Loll

😆

Did he catch the train to the conference? I'm asking because I sometimes find dd in a field on Life360 but she's been on a train and it's where the tracks cross.

UnnamedPoster · 19/04/2023 23:39

We stopped using Life360 because of how often it was wrong.

This situation definitely sounds like a signal issue, I wouldn't be worried at all.

MysteryBelle · 19/04/2023 23:43

Agree with pp. That app is great but it is not completely accurate. The fact there is no “trip” from field to conference center shows you have nothing to worry about. We will be home yet shows as if we’re in another spot, not in the house at all. My son was taking a test downtown and my mother who likes to track him 😂 asked why he was at the police station! Which he wasn’t, he was in a completely different building which I dropped him off and picked him up. Sure enough it jumped to correct place with no “trip” in between. Signal also gets lost and comes back so he could have been driving by that field then was “stuck” there on 360 for an hour, it happens. Then jumps to correct location.

MysteryBelle · 19/04/2023 23:45

Even if he had walked to or from a field, 360 would show “short trip” or something like that. So don’t worry. That app takes some getting used to.

ReliantRobyn · 19/04/2023 23:45

You should get your ducks in a row and leave him immediately. Don't give him the chance to explain. He is snagging a lady or a cow in that field.

EconomyClassRockstar · 19/04/2023 23:47

I honestly don't understand why so many people are locked into this absolute bullshit. The poor guy was at work and your phone put him in a field? What did you exactly think he was doing in that field?! If this is the future, we're all fucked.

EconomyClassRockstar · 19/04/2023 23:48

Team FUCKLIFE360 😁

It does glitch on a semi regular basis. DS was sat next to me on his phone the other day but Life360 said he was a couple of miles away and continued to do that for another few hours. I met up with a friend recently and our DD's got the bus to a local town. I checked DD's Life360 and it said she was in another local town so my friend checked her DD's and her DD was in the correct town. I then called my DD to see what was going on and she was with my friend's DD and quite clearly in the correct local town. It was very peculiar.
