In the February holidays I went skiing where I fell and injured my knee. I managed to ski down the mountain only fuelled by adrenaline I assume as I couldn't walk on it for the next few days (literally couldn't even put my foot to the floor) . I decided for the last couple of days to try and ski which I did albeit painfully, though not too painful to make me stop.
When I came back from France my knee was still very sore and I was walking with a limp so I booked an appointment with the GP who recommended an appointment with a physio rather than a doctor. From this appointment I was referred for an MRI scan to make sure I didn't have a miniscus tear.
The results of my MRI scan came back Thursday last week via text which said I have an un-displaced tibial plateau fracture and that if I'm in a lot of pain go to A&E where they might put on a cast or a knee brace otherwise they will refer me to the fracture clinic and to wait for my appointment.
Having heard nothing I rang the fracture clinic today to be told they don't have any appointment for me and the referral is still "upstairs" (where ever that is!) so I don't have an awful lot of advice to go on.
Now its not painful anymore, more stiff and tight and sometimes aches (maybe when I've done too much) Its very hard for me to keep the weight off my leg without crutches as I have two children who have clubs everyday - if that is even what I should be doing.
Would it be unreasonable to give them another day to contact me otherwise call 111 for advice and an appointment? I'm just worried that I've done more damage having used it for the past 8 weeks. It does feel SO much better from when I originally hurt it but still doesn't feel right to be honest.
