Absolutely starving for some reason tonight so had a huge plate of chips, 2 eggs, beans, brown sauce and a couple of slices of bread and butter to make a chip butty. All washed down with a mug of steaming hot tea.

I know I know very carb heavy, no veg but hell it was bloody delicious.

Oh my god! This sounds incredible (I'm on a boring healthy eating plans and want to make this now)

bluebottle23 · 17/04/2023 22:06

Also, how bloody hood are chip butties. I have to put loads of butter on the bread so it melts into the chips - heaven

doitwithlove · 17/04/2023 22:07

Add ham to the plate and I'll be there with ya 🍟

IreneGoodnight · 17/04/2023 22:07

This thread is as good as a feast!

Ok so the dipping is unreasonable.

Philistine!

whynotwhatknot · 17/04/2023 22:11

sounds good to me

Mindovermatter247 · 17/04/2023 22:16

I’ve just informed DP, I’m going old school tomorrow and we are having sausage chips and beans for the first time in about 8 years… he was actually very happy… sometimes it’s nice just to go back to basics instead of doing a meal that take 500 steps to cooks 😂

sweeneytoddsrazor · 17/04/2023 22:17

R Whites cream soda @nomoredriving ?

That's far to posh, it has to be Barr.

I had a glorious Full English at my favourite transport cafe the other day. 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tinned toms AND baked beans, 2 slices of white toast and butter and a mug of tea. It was luvverly.

Sadly I undid all the good work today - I had the Mumsnet Massive Salad for dinner 😊Weirdly, I do feel like I could eat again already...

There was a while ago the most MN thread anywhere. Posters saying they have never heard of a caff only ever a café.

Oooooo so fancy.

GlassBunion · 17/04/2023 23:17

Chips are potatoes, a veg with fibre. Two eggs are two lots of protein.
If they're fried in olive oil, then it's a healthy Mediterranean diet.
Bread ( hoping it's wholemeal or 50/50) then it's more fibre.

Beans are even more fibre and is another of your 5-a day!

Chomp on!

IntheSnowySnowyMountains · 17/04/2023 23:25

Sounds yummy, though like PP I'd have egg or beans, but only because I don't think they go together!

Tonight I had a modest variation on yours... poached eggs on toast, mushrooms and bacon. And orange juice to make up for lack of veg. Yesterday we had sausages, mash, onion gravy and token broccoli. Tomorrow I will eat two lettuce leaves and some soup to make up for it Grin

BrutusMcDogface · 17/04/2023 23:53

You inspired me, op! I was meant to be having some boring pasta and salad but I had chips, beans and fried eggs! Just what the doctor ordered! Thank you! 😁

Has to be thickly sliced white bread, salty butter, salt and vinegar and ketchup if preferred and chips in a double layer I like the McCain home fries crinkles it’s a one off treat every now and then but it’s the best isn’t it a chip butty with the butter melting

Schoolplacechoicemyth · 18/04/2023 19:43

This post has literally got me running to the kitchen for eggs & beans. Yum

TwoMonthsOff · 18/04/2023 19:46

i have been know to have the spoons ‘all day breakfast - with chips’ (quorn sausages) at times it’s quite good value and they serve it all day 🐷and okay with a glass of wine

TwoMonthsOff · 18/04/2023 19:47

@GlassBunion
I like your way of thinking, add a grilled tomato and it’s 😇perfect

bluebottle23 · 18/04/2023 19:56

@TwoMonthsOff oh yes! I am dribbling a little bit thinking of that haha. I either love it with a white buttered roll from the chip shop or as you said with thick white bread and nice salty butter and McCain's home fries. I haven't tried the crinkle ones but I will next time. I also like a tiny amount of tommy ketch. Not too much... just a hint!

TwoMonthsOff · 18/04/2023 20:17

@bluebottle23 i like the McCain ‘crinkles’ best and this butter…..from aldi I’ve banged on and on about this butter on a few threads but it’s the best butter ever and I’ve even YouTubed videos of the region, it’s so well produced
it’s available it sainsburys but a lot more expensive 🥰https://groceries.aldi.co.uk/en-GB/p-specially-selected-isigny-salted-butter-250g/4088600461434

We had pizza. Just pizza. #youdon'twinfriendswithsalad

TwoMonthsOff · 18/04/2023 20:46

@LadyMonicaBaddingham
im never impressed with supermarket pizzas until now …the Franco Manco range in Tossco I’ve had Quattro formaggio are very good …(other toppings are available…..said in speeded up voice )
i like with a Greek salad

bluebottle23 · 18/04/2023 20:48

OMG @TwoMonthsOff I was actually going to write to you about that butter. I got my first pack at the weekend and keep just cutting little bits off as it is seriously the best thing I have ever tried. When I treat myself to this chip butty I'm going to get the crinkle chips and this butter and some fresh thick white bread and then send you a message haha. I feel I need to start a whole new thread about that butter haha. I'm healthy eating at the moment so haven't gone hell for leather on this as I worry I could get through the whole thing in one hour

TwoMonthsOff · 18/04/2023 20:52

@bluebottle23
that butter totally deserves its own thread….I can’t get over how good that butter is, sometimes in Aldi it’s out of stock and I’m so disappointed so in stock up when it’s tin stock, it’s a true gift from a nature if you see the videos from there how they treat the cattle , I cannot accept substitutes , so happy to have found a fan 🥰but let’s not tell everyone it will get sold out 😭

TwoMonthsOff · 18/04/2023 20:55

@bluebottle23 like it’s the ‘Brie’ equivalent of butter ??….I dont have words it’s just so pure you can taste the work that has gone into its production, it’s got the pat marks on it ❤️

bluebottle23 · 18/04/2023 21:09

@TwoMonthsOff I also feel we're kindred spirits, because I love the fact that you googled the butter maker AND you have referred it to the Brie of the butter world! What do you have it on? I tempted to sack of healthy eating for a date with the butter and myself haha. ❤️

TwoMonthsOff · 18/04/2023 21:37

@bluebottle23
toast and crusty dinner rolls and a baked potato not sandwiches it’s wasted in a sandwich (unless it’s a chip Butty)
