Do you find it annoying when someone close to you copies everything you do?

I can't go into too much detail as would be outing but do you find it flattering or like they are trying to compete all the time?

It's annoying but when they get one over on you they tend to quit for awhile ex bought car after car and finally got one on finance to get one newer than mine ds asked why I don't buy a new car? I said because dad can't afford another new car to compete he laughed because its true! Can't just get a car has to say does mum's car do this? What about this? How about THIS????

just enjoy your car don't compare it to mine because I don't actually care

(The car is just the latest example there are many more)

It depends what kind of things you're talking about. My neighbour's house is the same as mine. She's copied all of the renovations we've done so far. She comes round and is like 'wow, looks great! I'm doing this too' 😄I don't mind at all, what difference does it make to me.

Yes I have found this annoying before in the past.

I have experienced this twice in my life and both times have been told by other people to stop worrying about it as it’s “flattering”. I would agree that a friend that copies or is influenced by something you have done every so often is flattering, but I have been in situations where I have felt very uncomfortable being copied.

I had a friend who continuously copied everything I did, wore and bought. Even to the point she started chatting to a guy that I liked myself. She started to dress like me, died her hair the same colour as me and changed her name on Facebook to a similar name as me and said she didn’t like her first name so decided to change it. - to me this all over stepped the mark and I became uncomfortable and ended the friendship. Some people I told said “maybe just be flattered”

My in laws went on holiday to the same hotel me and my husband had our honeymoon at so they could ‘experience the same as us’ 🤨 I mean I thought this was really wrong but it didn’t really bother me I just think they are odd.
