We’ve gone through some shitty times this last month and I think it’s probably time we go our own ways, as everyone argument we have just blows up and he keeps referring to the past.

He feels I dragged him down because all his other siblings are doing so well. His siblings have no kids and have had a lot of help from mummy and daddy. We’ve had 3 kids and never asked for help once.

I’ve told him he’s free to walk away and do what he wants he doesn’t have to stay with a “looser” like me but he will just not leave.

He thinks I’m a rubbish mum and a rubbish wife! So why not leave me?

im tired of the arguing, we’re both not the same people we once were their is so much hate and anger. I have begged him to leave but he just won’t.

Where do I go from here?

Can you talk to a solicitor to discuss your options?

GabriellaMontez · 16/04/2023 14:42

Do you rent ? Whose name is the property under?

AnneLovesGilbert · 16/04/2023 14:47

Do you jointly own or rent your home? He doesn’t have to move out anymore than you do unless you rent and it’s only your name on the tenancy.

Calm down and go about ending things properly, start proceedings for divorce and then a process will kick in. If you own and can’t buy him out you’ll have to sell and you can both stay there until that happens.

Insisting he has to leave isn’t going to help anyone and will only inflame things.

Do you own your house or rent? Can you move out instead of him? Or if you own your house sell it and split the profits?

OliveToboogie · 16/04/2023 14:50

Need to go see a lawyer and get advice. As ppl have said your options depend on whether you rent or own your own house. Difficult to give advice with so little information.

Mrshermit · 16/04/2023 14:51

We rent both on the tenancy, I earn more than him so he wouldn’t be able to afford it on his own.

He’s got so much family that would have him back in a heartbeat. I just can’t get my head around wanting to stay with someone that he thinks is a looser and an embarrassment and has ruined his life.

You need to take control and see a solicitor. File for divorce and if you own your home it will have to be put up for sale. Stop wasting your time waiting for him to be reasonable. You need to end this marriage because the environment for your kids must be absolutely dreadful.

Start living separate lives. Draw up a rota who has dc. Do not wash or cook for him. Divide the fridge and finances as best you can for now. Seek legal advice. Or even file for divorce.. I did and told dh 2 weeks later.

We rent both on the tenancy, I earn more than him so he wouldn’t be able to afford it on his own.

Then you need to find another rental property and notify your present landlord why you are leaving, maybe even mention dh can't afford to stay by himself. Your present landlord might come up with a viable solution especially if they have another rental property.

Then see a solicitor about your financial rights before starting the divorce petition.

I just rang my ll and asked for a single person tenancy when I threw exh out. He posted me one out same week!
