How can a dance troupe from Uganda be on BGT? Is the clue not in the title? How many actual British acts were batted back to make room for non British acts? Shocking

BGT has always had acts from other countries. Nothing new.

MissMogwai · 15/04/2023 21:11

Is this your first rodeo with BGT?
Acts from all over the world audition every year.

Jamhamlamb · 15/04/2023 21:12

Why not call it Earth's Got Talent then

Yes this is the first time I have watched it

I don't watch it now but when I did I noticed there was a singer on from another country. Can't remember where now but seemed odd.

Well, you could do that, but then what would these guys do?

I had to turn it off. I just can't deal with all that virtue signalling - it's infuriating and makes it unwatchable.

Felix125 · 15/04/2023 21:20

I turned it off years ago

The judges get on my nerves - its more about them than the acts.

Then the acts who they don't put through for some bizarre reason "I just didn't understand your act" - he's a singer, he's singing you a song....!

Then they the end up putting someone through who plays a paper & comb

I prefer to watch the inside of my eyelids

Hopefully it will go the same way as X factor

foulksmills · 15/04/2023 21:22

Japanese farting man got through 🙄

VincentVaguer · 15/04/2023 21:23

They were amazing and we did say that the racists will be all over social media complaining.

Mouldyfoodhelp · 15/04/2023 21:27

Don't mind foreign acts too much as long as its a minority, but its the putting through of the acts like the farting man that annoy me.

I recorded it and fast forwarded through most of the waffle, there's not actually too many acts on show in the 90min programme

Sharkyto · 15/04/2023 21:30

Did brexit teach you nothing? We don’t have enough talent here, we have to recruit from abroad.

Jokes aside, those kids were amazing and deserved an opportunity.

AmyDudley · 15/04/2023 21:31

I presume the B in BGT refers to the host nation (In the style of 'the US Open' etc) not who can take part. In any case it is clear that actually B doesn't have very much T, so obviously in order to find an act worthy of putting before our beloved King, they have to trawl a bit further afield.
I thought the kids from Uganda were talented and cute as hell, everything else tonight was rubbish (although I missed the little Irish boy so he may have been good)

girlfriend44 · 15/04/2023 21:32

Thought they'd given up with this rubbish programme.

Felix125 · 15/04/2023 21:35

The farting man is just typical - they will be really critical over certain acts, but yet they put him through....?

Or some old bloke comes on and sings - and he sounds like some drunk in your local pub at the end of the night - but he goes through

Or some 90 year old dancer who can hardly move

The whole thing is just so contrived....

DrMarciaFieldstone · 15/04/2023 21:38

BGT is useful in that if anyone asks you if you watched it on Saturday night, you can use that as a sign to avoid that person.
