To worry these wake windows are not normal

My baby is 6 weeks old and cries what feels like ALL DAY. Sleeps well during the night for stints of 3 -4 hours which is wonderful but the days are tough.

I keep reading all the nice things we should be doing during wake windows but the majority of them are spent soothing a screaming baby trying to work out what’s wrong (after feeding nappy etc) I feel like a failure

am I deluded and this is normal and I need to get on with it or am I doing something wrong?

My baby (11 years ago) was like this from 2 days old until 12 weeks old. It wasn't a cry, it was a painful scream, all day & all night. It was absolutely relentless. She did have colic & reflux etc but the crying just never stopped until finally at 12 weeks old, numerous doctors & hospital visits later they finally spotted signs of a urine infection (the way she lifted her knees up to her chest apparently) done a urine sample, got anti biotics and omg she was a different baby after that. Of course, some babies do cry alot, but I knew her crying & relentless screaming wasn't your average. If you feel something isn't right, have your baby checked out. It took me 3 hospital visits and 4 GP visits. The first 6 keep telling me her screaming was normal, I was an over anxious new mum, put her in a dark room.. nobody would listen but I kept going back.

Hi, I know this is an old post but wondering how you got on with this? My little one is exactly the same, I’d say it started at 3 weeks and we’re now at 9 with no signs of settling - give me hope!
