Hello collective brain
I'm in the position to finally tackle my weight and to get myself healthier. I've been considering a personal trainer and nutrition coach but also considering just getting myself together and doing it myself. So far I've got to
Eat in a calorie deficit
Weigh food carefully with digital scale
Use online resources to find calorie counted recipes, print them and do careful meal planning
Track all exercise and try to do something daily if possible (is 5 times a week more realistic?)
Have any of you guys done similar and actually had a success story?
I'm 48 and obese but physically able and fairly 'fit' (can run across roads/jump about without being too out of breath etc)

I worked out my TDEE

Then ate clean, did an intermittent fast plan and averaged a stone a month. I had five to lose. I was in my early 50's and post menopausal. At the start I used Exante/shake the weight products. My eldest GC lives a chicken pot noodle, as do I and used STW chicken noodles to have when she was having one. Likewise the chocolate shakes helped with cravings. I have CF, if I exercise, I need to sleep, but still did some. I walk daily. Take measurements, don't just go by the scales. It isn't popular on here, but as we go towards menopause, cutting down on carbs does help. I use the no carb rice and pasta.

Yes low carb seems to suit my body but not my mind as I love toast!
I have calculated my calories and for weight loss at a moderate level I need 1900 calories a day.
Its inspiring me that you managed to do it at a similar age and similar amount to lose as me. With the intermittent fasting did you do 16:8?
