Smol washing up liquid

Not an exciting one and shamelessly here for traffic so I can order tonight but....

I've used Smol washing capsules and dishwater tabs for years. Didn't get on with the sprays.

For anyone use the washing up liquid? I'm just doing a Tesco shop online and fairy is getting dearer (the original seems to have gone shit so I've switched to their max power, which I fully believe is the old formula in a new bottle but that's another thread)

All I want to know is, if you use Smol, does it bubble? And clean well?

I like a good foamy bubble in the washing up bowl, not just scented water (method washing up liquid was exactly this 🥴)

Thank youuu!

Bio d ( health food shop or online) are great, prob more expensive def good tho

I've bought it but have yet to use it as still using my ecover 5L one (no complaints btw, just sucker for trying new stuff and like yourself have used the smol washing pods for ages)

I didn't know they did washing up liquid, thanks I'll have a look. I really like the dishwasher tablets. I'm on the look out for a good, clear, washing up liquid to go in a glass pump bottle. The clear ones I've tried so far haven't been much good.

I'm using it at the moment. The bubbles don't last long enough for me and I find I'm topping up the water to make it bubbly again.
I use the wash pods and love them so I'm a bit disappointed.

+1 for Bio D. I buy the 5litre refills.

notanoxfordcomma · 11/04/2023 08:32

@happyandhopefull I was a bit put off the Smol by the bright pink colour!!!

@Waitingforsummer75 hmm ok this was my fear, I had a feeling it would be like method.

Back to max power it is then!!

Don't worry about the pink colour, mine has gone completely clear from being in the kitchen window! One day it was pink, the next day, totally clear!

I like it, it's quite a strong scent, but I would agree with the poster above thar the bubbles don't last very long. It doesn't go super bubbly when you run a sink full of water but it does bubble up on the sponge.

Feel like in the long run I use more than I do of the ecover. The only saving grace is the pump bottle slows me down so maybe I'll just keep a bottle and decant my ecover!

Cumberlover76 · 11/04/2023 08:59

Agree with previous posters. Smells good, but I'm disappointed with how much I have to use and how quickly the bubbles go. I won't be continuing with the subscription. The dishwasher tabs are fine, but will go back to getting ecover or BioD refills after using up the 4 bottles. I like the bottle and pump though, so as others have said will just refill with something else. Amazon do 5L refill bottles of Ecover, BioD and other more eco/natural brands for less than the Smol costs.

I buy Fairy from Poundland usually, or from Tesco when on offer. It's not expensive and lasts for months, but maybe I'm missing something.

notanoxfordcomma · 11/04/2023 09:23

@BabyHobnob oh wow!!
Maybe I need to reinvest in one of those sponges with the handle....

Honest review ...... its shit and I've got 3 more bloody bottles to use up. It doesn't stay bubbly at all, doesn't have a very strong scent at all and leaves all my glass ware cloudy so have to be re rinsed at the end

CCSS15 · 11/04/2023 11:42

Same as previous poster - bit crap smells nice, got another 3 bottles to go! Not buying again

notanoxfordcomma · 11/04/2023 16:06

@Sprinkles21 @CCSS15

Thank you, you've saved me the cost and the storage space needed for the extra bottles!
