Lip fillers?

I've got the opportunity to get them done today for next to nothing as it's somebody close to me who is doing them.
I think the offer is 1ml, I've never had them before but just not sure.
I've attached an image, I know they aren't thin but the top lip is much smaller than the bottom one and also slightly uneven.

I've had filler before so I know what to expect in terms of pain and such, but lips are so hard to get right. I know 1ml isn't a huge amount but there are so many obvious lip jobs which look rubbery and fake.
Not sure whether to go for it, don't want it to be a downwards spiral. I'm 32.

And when I say symmetrical I don't mean top and bottom same size, that's actually not aesthetic, the top should be one third and bottom two thirds or 40/60 proportion.
The asymmetry is in the left and right sides of the top lip.

Lip fillers can look good on photos but in real life they look awful.. I see them every day walking round Leeds and it never not looks like a swollen duck face.

@Cigarettesaftersex1 Her lips are fine but they aren't symmetrical. Most people aren't symmetrical. She wanted the unevenness fixed, the symmetry that she's seeking to reach with fillers is a dental issue.
Her teeth are not completely straight, some project forward and some backwards and thats why one side is 'sunken' back in. It looks normal because the disparity isn't too big and because in 3D our eyes 'correct' symmetry plus angles and speaking hide this. If you take a photo straight on you're bound to see all sorts of asymmetry from one eyelid droopier, one eye smaller, one eyebrow more arched or thicker, one nostril more flared, one side more wrinkled or saggy... it's very normal but if it bothers you fix it at the source, it's the teeth in this case.

Do people really look at themselves or other people and think about all this shit? How utterly depressing. And pointless.

They all look rubbery and fake. As humans we know if something is “off”.

nzeire · 10/04/2023 11:14

Ah no! Your photo is beautiful!

hair good!

This is mad! The top should be one third the bottom two thirds? Says who?

How the hell can you tell all this about her teeth when they are not visible?

Jellytotsburnmytongue · 10/04/2023 11:16

You have lovely lips, there is nothing wrong with them at all so glad to hear you are leaving them. Having your hair done instead is a great idea.

Grapewrath · 10/04/2023 11:20

Go for it if you trust the practitioner and aren’t happy with your natural shape. 1ml won’t look ridiculous
Its not permanent anyway.

Liquorish · 10/04/2023 11:24

I’d kill for a top lip like yours. It’s perfect. I have no top lip whatsoever and my bottom one is the same size as yours. Still scared of what it would look like to have fillers, especially when there’s nothing there to work with.

anxiouslemons · 10/04/2023 11:28

I think the PP is referring to the Golden Ratio. When applied to the face means the ratio of top to bottom lip should be something like 1:1.618 which isn't quite one third/two thirds but nearly.

Yes exactly that @anxiouslemons

electricmoccasins · 10/04/2023 12:12

You have a Cupid’s bow to die for. Don’t do it.

AllIeveknewonlyou · 10/04/2023 12:12

There is nothing wrong with being perfectly imperfect 😁

I could find loads 'wrong' if I looked at myself closely but I'll settle for just being clean nowadays.

anxiouslemons · 10/04/2023 12:42

Yes OP your lips are lovely, in fact I'd say they were on the fuller side of natural. They maybe don't seem it to you because we, as a whole, are getting more and more used to unnatural lip sizes.

FWIW I think the filler trend has reached its peak (probably a year or so ago) and we are (hopefully) heading back to a more natural trend. Thank fuck for that.
