Have had a credit card on 0% for purchases for years. I'm very good at applying for a new one before the old one runs out. Currently have £0 balance and my last one ran out of promotion several months ago and haven't really needed to renew since so haven't bothered. Decided tonight it was time to get another card as it's useful for online purchases and wanted to get some gif tickets.
I used a comparison website and MBNA came up with the top result offering 22nd the promotional period for 0%. Now, I know that I should read the small print and that's on me. Anyway, clearly jumped at the offer and have been accepted. It's only as I was really reading over the terms again that I realised it is '0% for 22months on purchases made in the first 60 days'
I could slap myself. How bloody frustrating. Now I want to cancel the card but the damage is done as it will run the credit check anyway and that just pisses me off!
Of course, I know it's my fault for not double checking but honestly I've never seen that before. 22months means 22months.
IABU - I should have checked properly
IANBU - that's sneaky wording and it shouldn't be the top card offered and shouldn't be allowed to advertise 22 months 0% when it's really 60 days
