This really is lighthearted.

Sat nav - there used to be a lot of stress finding places before its invention 😀

Now we are stress free going anywhere!

A second living room. No more watching of dreaded F1 for me ☺️

Loafbeginsat60 · 08/04/2023 04:46

Dishwasher!

Oopswediditagain2023 · 08/04/2023 05:52

Being able to pause tv 😂 I'm one of those annoying people who talks over the tv or asks questions about the show etc, so being able to pause it is a life(marriage)saver 🤣

WindyWends · 08/04/2023 07:19

Hiding my snacks.

He can't eat them and I can't get annoyed that he's eaten them.

MuddyBadge · 08/04/2023 07:58

Asking, "do you want suggestions or sympathy?" before responding to a rant.

Popsicle42 · 08/04/2023 07:59

A spare room! Always knowing there’s a spare bed to sleep in when his snoring gets too bad has meant much less stressful nights!

LefttoherownDevizes · 08/04/2023 08:01

French beepy toll tag - literal life saver on the autoroute when he's not driven close enough to the machine

Losing a stone (still got 2 more to go)

Difference it's made to my confidence and thus sex life is phenomenal

leatherlovingluke · 08/04/2023 08:11

Not doing flat pack furniture together. I like it and am better at it. DH is not allowed to get involved at all apart from helping carry the heavy stuff to where it needs to be.

Chessetchelsea · 08/04/2023 08:41

I think money would save it. Outsource all the rubbish stuff like cleaning, eat out loads, nice clothes and holidays. Much easier to be positive with lots of cash.

Alittlenonsensenowandthen · 08/04/2023 08:44

A conservatory - now I don't get miserable if it's raining, i can sit and enjoy it in there.
A dishwasher.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 08/04/2023 08:45

Another bedroom. The fighting in bed over snoring and suchlike was really affecting our relationship. We got married a couple of years later!

ohfook · 08/04/2023 08:46

An inflatable tent. Never managed a camping trip without an argument before investing in that bad boy!

Dolares · 08/04/2023 08:48

A dishwasher

SweetSakura · 08/04/2023 08:55

The dog! DH could be a bit needy at times and followed me around the house. Now the dog follows him around Grin

agree about sat nav , I have so many memories of being sat in the back of the car while my parents argued their way through France with countless maps!!

Yes - we were very happy before we had money but everything is so much more relaxed now we have a bit more leeway. Having a bigger house that's in a nice location has been a godsend and has given us both literal and mental "space". Also having the financial bandwidth when we're out and about to get something to eat on a whim, or stay in a nicer hotel. We're not bazillionaires! But it is nice to be able to choose the "nice" option and it means we have a more relaxed lifestyle.

Covetthee · 08/04/2023 08:59

Sleep apnea machine.

his snoring was causing me major resentment as I couldn’t get a decent nights sleep so would always sleep downstairs on the fold out bed and then it became worse When i was pregnant but he was the one sent down

also not good for him as he wasnt feeling rested no matter how much sleep he had and was getting cranky easily

now we both sleep in the bedroom and get a restful sleep

AnonymousArabella · 08/04/2023 09:00

A sex schedule. Sounds ridiculous but massively helped when we had young dc and differing sex drives. Took all the pressure away.

Inkypinkee · 08/04/2023 09:01

similar things here, spare room, dishwasher, sat nav, and never ever doing flat pack or diy together

but mostly me having my own money and independence

Avarua2 · 08/04/2023 09:04

Another one for sat nav

Also, a weekly cleaner

LadyMargaretDevereux · 08/04/2023 09:07

Sat nav, dishwasher. Gin.

gkd1234 · 08/04/2023 09:07

Not so lightheaded - but it was lockdown which saved ours - exhaustion from job & long commute almost gone overnight.

SophiaLarsen · 08/04/2023 09:09

HRT. Realised how much I lived my DH and how funny he was. Perimenopause meant I found him massively annoying and I was just tolerating him and I had internal contempt and rage. I now know it was me and not him!

Also, nespresso coffee machine for morning coffee and crossword together.

DC going for sleepovers with friends too. Allows for alone time!

I love a positive lockdown experience. We are very soon going to live five minutes from the sea, a dream for a long time. Without WFH this wouldn't have happened.

Love the others, especially the dog one Grin

We were the same until "someone" clicked on the wrong Llantrissant and didn't notice until we got there.
