Does anyone else often have the lurgy strike as soon as it’s time for a break from work?!!
Finished today, can feel it coming on… any tips of how to banish it so I don’t end up spending my time off feeling yucky?!

I use that Vick's stuff you snort - apparently there is no scientific basis for it but it does seem to have kept some of my colds at bay.

Honey lemon sage in boiling water.

High dose vitamin c and zinc

First defence asap, probably won't stop it but will delay it, my husband uses it

Sounds really silly but with first defence when you spray it how do you not blow your nose after?! I’m guessing your meant to just leave the spray/fluid there to work?!

Probably shouldn't recommend alcohol but I have found, once or twice, that a hot port stopped a cold in the early stages (probably just co-incidence!).

Breathe steam for 10 mins (eg in shower) or better still, hot bath for 20 minutes. I read somewhere that there is evidence this can kill off the beginnings of a cold. You need to do it asap after getting the 'cold coming on feeling'. It has worked for me.

Drink loads of water and get an early night.

Night nurse always worked for me but I heard it may have been discontinued.

Take a Covid test. There's a lot of it about again ( V sorry to say this byt my husband just tested positive . It is just like a cold this time, sore throat and lots of sneezing)

Night nurse is available still over the counter...which is good as I've been living on it for the last two weeks
