AIBU to think that people who rape or murder children should not ever be released from prison

Reading about yet another man who raped and murdered a child being released from prison.

Surely the vast majority of us think that if a person rapes or murders a child they should never be released.

Who makes the rules that allow this? Who wants this? Who thinks this is the right thing to do? This isn't justice. I can't imagine how the victim's family feel seeing him walking from jail free. Life should mean life.

(For what it's worth, I'll be writing to my MP again to say, again, that these people should get life without the possibility of parole)

How ridiculous

They aren’t fixable and will hurt more children if released. I don’t understand why we can’t just execute them. And I don’t mean California style I mean Chinese style.

If we really can’t execute them then it shouod be life sentence with no possibility of parole, and forced labour to pay for their keep.

And just who do people think will be doing all this shooting, hanging and torturing?! Read some books written by executioners and tell me they don’t suffer daily from being forced to commit state sanctioned murder? Just more lives being fucked up.

However she was found guilty. And only released on her second appeal. So by the logic of those advocating the death penalty then she should have been hanged

The law changed (about 20 years ago) and the sexually motivated or sadistic murder of a child does now qualify for a whole life order.

Murder of a child: yes. Murder of an adult: depends. Years (decades) ago there was a woman in Germany I think, who shot her childs murderer dead right there in the courtroom. I can fully understand that. If I recall correctly she got 6 years or so for that.

Because China is a nation we should be emulating when it comes to law and order...
