Easter holiday rip off price!!

Rosieposey91 · 04/04/2023 11:47

Just wondered if I’m being unreasonable here.

purchased tickets for an Easter event but was then emailed to be told price had increased and to pay a further £32! Bringing cost of the event for 2 adults , 1 child and free baby over £80. Originally was happy paying £55.

then to add to this, saw the same offer on Groupon for £18!!!

rang the company and asked if they could price match / honor the reduced price but was told no sorry we don’t make money from groupon. And that they won’t refund either.

with the cost of living , surely this is a reasonable request if it’s going to save us ££. She was offended I wanted to save money! Also said that she is removing offer from groupon from today as doesn’t want this cheaper price on there for Easter!

please tell me this woman is being an absolute d*ck!

You have bought tickets and are saying you need to spend more to attend? What kind of event? Have to asked trading standards if this is legal?

ComtesseDeSpair · 04/04/2023 11:57

They have to offer you the option of a refund if they aren’t honouring your tickets on the terms provided at the time of purchase. Direct them towards the Consumer Rights Act and, if they still refuse, pursue a chargeback through your bank of card provider.

Bloody nerve of them

You already have tickets- they either honour them or refund them
keep all communication in writing- direct them to trading standards- contact your bank and explain the situation

Nimbostratus100 · 04/04/2023 12:31

you have already paid. They cant change the price now,

Leftbutcameback · 04/04/2023 13:05

I understand they can’t match the group on price but neither can they put the price up after you’ve bought tickets. Either they honour the booking or cancel and give you a full refund

ChickenDhansak82 · 04/04/2023 13:12

They need to honour the booking or give a full refund.

They cannot refuse a refund!!

Goldbar · 04/04/2023 13:56

I wouldn't pay the increase and would demand a refund.

She can't put the price up after you've already bought the tickets - you've already entered into a contract with her at the original price.

Ktime · 04/04/2023 13:57

What they’re doing sounds illegal.

Inthesamesinkingboat · 04/04/2023 14:47

Surely if you have booked and paid they can’t then just shift the price?

LlynTegid · 04/04/2023 16:10

Name the company please. Let us all know so we can avoid doing business with them.

Rosieposey91 · 04/04/2023 16:43

She is now backtracking. Basically saying the additional cost is for a show which they usually charge as extra on the day if people
want to watch but due to Easter are charging people before hand. However I wasn’t given the option to not pay this until now. If I don’t pay the children miss out on a major part of the event! Also again the groupon amount is still much cheaper for the same ticket.

tell them you want a refund if they are not providing everything that was on the original contract/ticket

Essentially, none of this is relevant. You can’t force somebody to provide a service. However, you can request and expect a full round if they won’t honour the terms of your booking.

ComtesseDeSpair · 04/04/2023 17:08
  • full refund
blinkaa · 04/04/2023 17:13
