A few weeks ago my 7 month old caught a cough/ cold from baby group. I got it, I suffered with aching joints, a sore throat, dry cough for a few days and a sore chest.

I was better after about 4 days but the burning lung/ hurt to inhale feeling remained everyday for a good couple of weeks. It finally went away last Sunday.

I have been feeling run down and went to the drs last week for urine tests and swabs as I’ve been having pelvic pain and lower back pain, swabs and urine came back clear.

Randomly, on Friday the aching joints, sore throat, burny chest feeling returned but with a vengeance, and I’ve felt horrendous for the last 2 days.

It’s like it’s a virus that’s laid dormant for a week and is now back, I have no idea if it could be linked to the pelvic and back pain.

Has anyone on here suffered similar?

What were you swabbed for?

Findyourneutralspace · 02/04/2023 10:55

I’ve just had Covid and every time I think I’m on the mend it comes back to give me a new wave of grimness.

What were you swabbed for?

Bacterial Vaginosis as I had that about a month ago and was given antibiotics to treat. I had bad pelvic pain then and just put it down to that. The nurse wanted to check that wasn’t back again.

Yeh I never did a LFT so it could’ve been Covid. Do you have a sore throat/ achy joints/ burning chest when it comes back?

Yes!!!! Myself my dp and eldest (adult) dd have all had the exact things you mention now on the 3rd episode after getting better for a while then the same aches, headache and chest discomfort.

Both younger dd’s have not had as much as a sniffle.

We’ve all had negative Covid tests.

YearoftheRabbit23 · 02/04/2023 11:02

Oh right I thought you were going to say you were swabbed for COVID/flu/RSV.

Given current prevalence of cases and your symptoms I'd guess COVID.

HJA87 · 02/04/2023 11:05

yes, we’ve had exactly the same. I also caught it from my toddler. Got better after 3/4 days and then I had the sore chest on inhaling feeling, very sore throat and generally feeling unwell again.

tatteddear · 02/04/2023 11:10

Me. I've had it for two weeks-the first week felt pretty rough, then turned a corner for a few days-but woke up yesterday feeling the worst I've ever felt. I can't get out of bed really and that's a first for me. Dd1 and dh had similar.

tatteddear · 02/04/2023 11:12

My bones feel like someone is drilling in to them. I think that's the worst part :(

ChocSaltyBalls · 02/04/2023 11:13

I’d also suggest maybe Covid

IsGoodIsDon · 02/04/2023 11:16

I was sick 2 weeks ago tested for covid all negative and then felt a bit better then during the last week felt increasingly tired, aching, coughing and just thought I was run down from my previous bug but just tested for covid again just incase and it was positive. Happy Easter holidays for me

myheartmyhead · 02/04/2023 11:24

Yes!

We had that nasty flu over Xmas, and none of us have been 100% since

This week we've all had the aching, sore throat, sore ears. Felt better for 2 days and woke up today feeling rotten.. DH is sure it's COVID again

Kittytitt · 02/04/2023 11:29

Yep. Seemed like a bad cold, started to get better than wham, awful for 2/3 days. Still got residual cough weeks later. Whole family had it like that, assumed Covid.

Findyourneutralspace · 02/04/2023 11:42

Yes, same as PP felt like a bad cold for a couple of days, then a couple of days where I couldn’t get off the sofa. Sweats, headache and burning chest pains, felt like my limbs were made of lead. I’m on week 3 now and keep trying to do normal stuff because I feel fairly normal when I’m not exerting myself, but I’m still needing lots of rest in between.

Hannahbananaana · 02/04/2023 12:44

Thanks all, glad to know it’s not just me!!

Perhaps it is a horrible, persistent version of covid!
