Name change in case outing. My Y6 child has a field trip coming up, and they were all asked to name the friends they’d like to share a room with, and then to rank them in order of preference.
of course they all told each other afterwards, and my child was really upset that in their long-standing friendship group, no one picked them ‘first’.
I know teachable moment etc etc, and that’s the approach I took, but AIBU to think this seems a little mean- were the friendship rankings really necessary?
