Holiday and Maybe Covid

Going away with DH and a group of friends on a lovely holiday on Saturday morning that has been booked for ages. We're all staying in the same accommodation. One of our friends has just told us that his partner has tested positive for covid and is quite ill. Our friend however has tested negative and feels ok so is insisting that he still goes. Several of our friends have health issues, which is a worry.

A few of us have said that we have concerns but he still says he's coming along and how much he's looking forward to it all. To top it off, he's leaving his small DD with his ill partner.

Am I/we being unreasonable to be unhappy about this? We're all vaccinated and understand that unfortunately covid is still around etc but we feel so uncomfortable, since he may test negative now but potentially be positive soon. Also feel sorry for his partner and DD!

I’m surprised they’ve even managed to test to know for sure.

Hardly anyone is testing these days.. I constantly have ‘symptoms’ yet no idea if I have it or not and don’t change my life or plans.

If anyone’s particularly worried they can choose not to go but equally they could easily be exposed to it in their normal life anyway.

Its not 2020.

YABU.
