Which Job

Hi everyone

So I left my job last year for a promotion in a new job which is in a more relaxed setting think leaving a customer facing role for something in the head office but the location of the role is 2hrs commute time

Now old employer has offered me a similar role with my current seniority in a location about 40 minutes from home so it's closer to home than my current role though in a more fast paced but more 'marketable' role which would give me more options I feel if looking for another role in the future

My dilemma is that in the old role there were a few people in the team that I would manage who I did not necessarily get on with, so well though we were professional as colleagues and any disagreements were linked to the roles we were in

In current role, I am just starting to establish myself and generally feel I am learning a lot, and actually do really like the job, though I am only in the office 2x a week, it is costly and time consuming to get to and from work

So wise Mumsneters what would you do?

Why do you think this?

Depends on why you left the first job, was it purely based on promotion/better hours/pay or was the more relaxed atmosphere or irritation with rules/co workers etc a large part of it? Generally speaking I find you left a job for a reason and unless that reason is completely unrelated to the previous job (ie a location move or going for a role/opportunity that wasn't available in your previous job) it's never a good idea to go back. I mean, unless that job offer came out of nowhere, you were looking for different job opportunities for a reason I pressume.
