Would you worry in this circumstance?

DH had a meeting this morning to find out if he was having his contract renewed for another year (his roll has one year rolling contracts). We spoke this morning on the phone before his meeting. I’ve not heard anything at all since. Meeting ended three hours ago. Am I safe to assume the worst?

He saw my message (“how did it go?”) an hour ago and hasn’t responded. Not looking like he hasn’t had time to respond. He knows I worry. Urgh.

Did his contract get renewed?

Not yet. A guy in his department was in an accident and said he wouldn’t be back so they took on extra staff. The guy recovered very quickly and returned early so now they’re over staffed. They want to keep DH on but the finances don’t work out so they’re looking at moving him to another department but he won’t know for about a month from now. He could easily get a job elsewhere but he likes his workplace.
