So as back story I was diagnosed with a condition affecting face/ jaw in Feb 2023 and told I needed an urgent operation. I was given 3 days notice for op that was 2 weeks ago and have a 2 weeks sicknote.
the first 4 days I had no pain at all and was surprised at how well I was doing and told my boss the 2 weeks would be enough so would be back for half term- others on annual leave and 2 others off sick in NHS patient facing role.
the last 4 days have been awful pain wise and GP has been seen twice and given stronger painkillers and sleep tablets as I can’t sleep as laying on my face is agony.
should I suck it up and go back to work as the team is already struggling or get a further week and see how it goes
