I'm a home carer currently on £10.50 per hour, boss has just sent an email out to say wages will be increasing to £10.90 and mileage will stay at current rage of 30p. Im I being unreasonable to think it's completely unfair? I was expecting at least 50p increase but then again maybe I was just being greedy.

Pretty sure that petrol should be at least 45p..

Well.....how is it unfair? Because of your expectations? Which were based on what?

30p a mile, is that for your own car or company provided?

No point thinking it's unfair, act on it and look for another job at the rate you are looking for. If you have a job offer in hand your current employer may then match it or offer above. If not, then you can join the new company.

That is the hmrc mileage rate for first 10k business miles, no obligation on employer to pay that though I don't believe
