I've had a lot of issues with my line manager over the years and she doesn't appreciate all the extra work I do.
My role is order administrator which on paper was supposed to be processing orders, provid9ng tracking and order progress
My team is me supervisor and
5 years later I am the above plus quotes internal and external, delivery, POD- even packing when the storesman is off and the order book has grown about 5 fivefold
Then I am also involved in processing for the repair orders , giving updates, sending out for releases etc
I'm helping train every export person that starts and leaves
I'm part of a new component team and making sure order book is correctly reflective of developments
I also jump into book shipments for other people as a favour as the storesman is grumpy
I have to jump in for emergencies or when the 3rd member of our team has come back from a/l
I am also doing a lot of the role of the old sales manager that left and giving occasional day to day pushes on the new sales manager as he is still newish despite being here a year

I was on a community initiative day today not far from work which she knew and I came in before despite not having to and got a call at 10am telling me I had to come back immediately. I said I had come with a colleague so couldn't so she said I have to be back by 1 pm which basically left me with two hours of community volunteering and 2 hours not done. It was supposed to be a nice fun day and then she rang the young lad I came with and made him commit to bring me back which was a dampener on the whole day.
She had wanted me to be back before a billing deadline which I knew I would be , to bill what is a very insignificant amount of money for our company. Even the director was shocked that is was such a small amount when told. I was back two hours early for a ten min task
I was fuming. I am so unappreciated and it all feels like a power trip
Aibu? It feels like time to leave

I would leave so many 3pl jobs I saw on Indeed today you'll waltz into one

cartagenagina · 29/03/2023 18:42

I would stop doing all the additional work and start looking for something new.

Obbydoo · 29/03/2023 19:09

If you knew there was a billing deadline, why didn't you sort it the day before?

Two orders to bill-
One required the deadline setter to act so I didn't know till this morning I could proceed
The other one didn't exist after all

If you’ve had issues with her ‘for years’ why have you not addressed it before?

Time to raise an official complaint or find another job. Or both.

Sorry... I skimmed most of it but lost the will to live around line 4. If there's a billing deadline and that's your job, get over it - it's your job whether £2 or £2 billion. If you want to leave, leave. It didn't seem that complicated.
