Ah ok thanks - makes sense - I only knew things from Tweets etc but now I've read the actual story makes sense he'll be back. Must admit I don't actually dislike him - I think he's got a very good presenting style and still looks very presentable - no weight gain over the years etc etc

Hang on.... because he has not gained weight, he is exempt from criticism for being an accessory after the fact, from criticism following ' queue gate', from being called a total and absolute knob?

Ah, of course, he is still slim. Therefore he is untouchable.

You might actually be right unfortunately.

Mumsnet at its best.

I thought they had next week and the week after off?

I find the news reporting of Philip Schofield’s own account of it awful ‘Don’t tell me! don’t tell me!’ Not the human reaction of someone caring about hearing of harm against a vulnerable child. Self interested definitely.

TBF I can sort of imagine that as an initial, shocked reaction. Hearing something like that must be an imaginable blow and it's hard to know how one would react....

But, once he'd had time to catch his breath and gather himself together it is unforgivable not to report his brother and take personal responsibility to do whatever he could to safeguard young lives.

Arapawa · 01/04/2023 17:20

I hope not. Can't stand him or Holly.

Redebs · 01/04/2023 17:24

Strawberrydelight78 · 29/03/2023 18:36

Why shouldn't he return? It's his brother who has done wrong not him. I don't see why it even needs to be mentioned he's his brother.

His brother told him what he was doing and he said he didn't want to know.
He should have reported it to police.

IMustDoMoreExercise · 01/04/2023 17:54

Hope not. He ruins TM and Holly is so much better without him. I actually liked her last week.

He must have many millions so he should give someone else a chance.

Wonnle · 01/04/2023 18:22

I try not to think of the slimy little creep at all if I can help it

KTSl1964 · 01/04/2023 18:27

Well if this is true PS will need to go.
Hopefully he won’t squirm his way out of this.
The brother must have told someone he told PS.
Im find it odd both brothers have a liking for young men.
Look how PS lied to his wife for years and years. He’s manipulating - who was he having sex with!!! Would be someone!!!
There is much more dirt here somewhere.
PS is usually off over Easter.
His brother will be found guilty.

NoBerryJamOnToast · 01/04/2023 18:36

God, I hope not! Holly should p155 off as well.

SupplyIsLimited · 29/03/2023 23:13

Well, at least he's stayed thin... 🙄 But based on the Matthew McGreevy thing, maybe the reason he didn't feel he could report his brother's illegal behaviour is that he's been guilty of the same. The pot and the kettle! Mustn't be a hypocrite, you know.

He knew Matthew when he was a child didn't he, then dated him when he was a teen?

Thatladdo · 01/04/2023 18:58

Mr Schofield has always come across to me as a bit dodgy, ever since his early days in that broom cupboard with that puppet.. {shudders}

CurrentHun · 03/04/2023 17:36

Philip Schofield’s comment on the verdict is something like ‘as far as I’m concerned I no longer have a brother’. Perhaps he could have shown his support for the victim better by reporting his brother to the police, as soon as he had confessed it to him Hmm

Absolutely agree.

I wonder if there will be any repercussions for him not reporting when he first told him??

AnneShirleysNewDress · 03/04/2023 20:16

Sadly, no legal repercussions but he should never be allowed on TV again. There is something very wrong at ITV if they allow him back.

MyopicBunny · 03/04/2023 20:17

I hope not - I do not like him.

Rantypanties · 03/04/2023 20:25

I hope he gets cancelled, smarmy bastard. He’s a wrong’un and had no business being on TV anymore

Don’t like PS. He’s smug and untouchable. Clearly knew what his brother had done, disowned him or he would lose his job. They’ll probably talk about it on the show, just like when he came out as gay.🙄

He hasn't done anything wrong. Why should he lose his job ? Talking about it is probably va good thing as it affects so many families

Also totally agree about his smugness

No, someone shouldn't lose their job because of someone else committed a crime. If it is true, however, that his brother confessed to him and PS didn't report it - leaving it to the victim's therapist to report it once it was disclosed to them several months later - then I think that's suitable grounds for dismissal from a day time show.

This situation is also placed within the context of his growing unpopularity and the widely known believed cover up regarding his relationship and/or bullying of a young man.

I certainly believe he should be off air while there's an independent investigation into his conduct.
