ANOTHER Phil Schofield hating thread. One was deleted earlier today.

He knew his brother had assaulted a child, and possibly was ongoing, and did NOTHING. Well, he told his brother to stop.

Doing nothing is not a neutral act, it allows abuse to continue. This is not the same as being a neutral witness.

I don’t watch that vacuous shit, but I sincerely hope he never returns to tv again. I can’t think of anyone that doesn’t loathe him.

Well I should hope this is the end of his career. His brother told him about the abuse and he didn't report him.

There also plenty of rumours about him and Matthew McGreevy that haven't just disappeared.

When an adult tells you they have sexually abused a child you report them to the police. He chose not to.

Of this is true then that is indefensible. But I will reserve judgement until I hear the facts from a reliable source.

I had nothing against him but I was absolutely appalled to read that according to what was said in court his brother told him what he had done and he simply told him not to do it again.

He should have reported his sibling at the time to the police.

Thankfully a mental health professional reported his brother to the police soon after.

I do hope he faces the consequences of failing to speak out. More kids could have been affected because of his silence.

Well, at least he's stayed thin... 🙄 But based on the Matthew McGreevy thing, maybe the reason he didn't feel he could report his brother's illegal behaviour is that he's been guilty of the same. The pot and the kettle! Mustn't be a hypocrite, you know.

I would be appalled if they have him back. He's admitted he knew his brother was abusing a boy and he took no action to intervene.

I was surprised that he didn’t reach out for help on the safeguarding angle from someone in his management team. This was never going to go under the radar.

Ugh, that does sound indefensible. I've never had a particular opinion wrt PS in the past but given what he does appear to have done (or not done) he cannot now be the face of daytime TV.

He may defend his actions as those of a loving brother who was scared about his sibling's state of mind. But it's absolutely not ok.

I find the news reporting of Philip Schofield’s own account of it awful ‘Don’t tell me! don’t tell me!’ Not the human reaction of someone caring about hearing of harm against a vulnerable child. Self interested definitely.

Absolutely this. We all know that safeguarding children is everyone's responsibility - he knew of abuse, and did nothing. Disgusting.
