I'd never heard the term 'the ick' until I joined MN but it's real isn't it. I've been in relationships where for outside reasons my libido has waned temporarily, but then it bounces back, but the ick, it's so person specific. I was reading another post and it gave me a very vivid memory, almost a flashback. I so desperately wanted to make things worse that I forced myself to go through the motions but I had a episode where he kissed me and I was so close to biting his tongue off! It freaked me out and I jumped up mid coitus. I'd felt my jaw clenching n I just thought ✋️. My repulsion shocked me.....him too. I've felt irritated at poking/prodding before, or frustrated at clumsy moves but this....it was a different level. Only had it once within a relationship. I didn't hate this person at all.
What is it and has anyone every got gheir relationship back on track? It really felt 'beyond me', just enveloped me.
