I'd buy a brand new Volvo 340 straight from the Volvo dealership

I'm sorry it was so horrible for you . A young man I worked with suffered unspeakable things at a children's home, and never could get over what was done to him.
He died.
I hope you can somehow manage, but it's very difficult.

Tell my baby brother not to smoke or drink. Also that I loved him. He was my best sibling. He died this week.

So sorry for your loss.

ScribblingPixie · 26/03/2023 18:46

Buy a massive East End flat right on the Thames.

KohlaParasaurus · 26/03/2023 18:47

Dump the charmless privileged boy I'd recently got together with at university and have a proper relationship with the good-hearted boy from a rough background that I got close to when we were both working at a summer camp. And lie about being available for work during the university summer term so that I could get supplementary benefit like every other student.

Laiste · 26/03/2023 18:47

I go back as an adult?

I'd get tickets for The Cult, The Cure, David Bowie, and about 50 other bands and then i'd go to the London clubs and have some bloody good nights out.

Schmutter · 26/03/2023 18:48

I’d stop brushing my hair in a bid to make it straight. My transition to secondary school later that year might have been less, er, frizzy.

GordonsAFGirl · 26/03/2023 18:49

@oakleaffy thank you.
Tbh I would also have a few more shags with my hairdresser boyfriend because he was ace in the sack. You don't know until you know.

reesewithoutaspoon · 26/03/2023 18:49

Say no to the boy who asked me out on a date (and later turned into my abusive ex husband) and go out with my friends instead. Life would have taken a whole different path

Not have the seriously awful perm that made me look 36, not 16.

Believe one of my close friends when she confided in me that her 2 older brothers were raping her, rather than laugh uncomfortably and pretend she didn't say it. I'm so sorry, H.

A girl in our class {Junior school} used to say certain things to us that made no sense about male and female anatomy.
I now know she must have been sexually abused by her male family members.

Extremely troubling.

Rosula · 26/03/2023 18:50

I'd keep quiet about how long it's going to take (4 years) till DS regularly sleeps through.

Cattenberg · 26/03/2023 18:50

I’d like to buy some of the fields around our town. Some were worth millions by the early 2000s. I’d buy a few houses too.

In reality, I’d probably play with my shape-shorter and push my brick truck around.

JohnnyYenSetHimselfOnFireAgain · 26/03/2023 18:51

Ask Sarah Harper out.

Give my Dad a hug x

Aw yes me too.

Im listening to The Greatest Hits station on the radio and they’re playing the top ten from 1983, it’s wonderful, I’m dancing round on a memory trip. Wah - Story of The Blues, Heaven 17 - Come Live with me. UB40 - Red Red Wine, plus other fab ones from The Cure, Yazoo, Fun Boy 3, Altered Images…

fdgdfgdfgdfg · 26/03/2023 18:53

Given that I was born in 1983, I'm kind of limited to either crying or filling my nappy.

Probably both.

Fucking stay there - 2023 is shit, the people are knob heads and the music was better then. We shall ignore the fashion.

Thesenderofthiscard · 26/03/2023 19:00

Kiss Rachel, the head master’s daughter.

Gardengirl108 · 26/03/2023 19:01

Not leave my beloved David Sylvian poster on a plane 😢

ShinyCaptain · 26/03/2023 19:01

Go to school? Pet my rabbit?

Backstreets · 26/03/2023 19:01

Go to New York and hit up the clubs, see if I could spot Madonna and Basquiat.

Hide in case anyone tried to make me go back to 2023...

Kennykenkencat · 26/03/2023 19:03

Jack in the jobs I had and follow my gut and my adhd (which I didn’t know I had at the time and get on a plane to somewhere hot with no intention of ever coming back to the UK

Octopus45 · 26/03/2023 19:05

In 1983 I was only 8, but go to see my Grandparents and parents for that matter, none of them are here anymore. As a kid, wear my heart on my sleeve less, be more savvy about being used, realising when people didn't like me, were telling lies etc - in short be tougher.

I would rather go back to 1993, I would still spend time with my parents. I would choose a different degree, Marketing. I would still go to the same uni cause I made amazing friends who I am still in touch with. I wouldn't go out with my uni boyfriend, think I was just grateful that someone like me; I certainly wouldn't have stayed with him for three years. I would have played the field. I would have persevered with learning to drive, in fairness I did do a final test in 1995 which I failed again. Now I don't have the money or the confidence, but I often think that if I hadn't given up, driving would now be instinctive and I would feel like a proper adult. I would also appreciate my late teens/early 20s body, rather than developing an eating disorder. Obviously lots I wish I'd done differently lol

TeaPleaseTa · 26/03/2023 19:08

Ask my parents to send me to a different school (I started Secondary that year and it was hell).
