Am I minging? Part 2..

Some of you will remember the PJ thread, in which I asked if I was wrong to NOT wash my kids' PJ's after every wash.

Talking to same friend today and I am told I am 'minging' for not washing my football shirt after 4 wears;

I've been to a grand total of 4 away games. It's worn over a jumper and under a coat, so it's not like I'm sweating all over it. It's on for 3/4 hours max. And it will now get a wash.

I'm WATCHING football, not playing it!

AIBU for leaving it for so long between washes?

Over something else, as you say, that’s like a coat! How often do coats need washing? Ooh you need to ask her.

I think that's perfectly reasonable OP. I'd change it if it were next to your skin, but over a jumper is a totally different proposition. It's also more environmentally friendly to not wash everything the minute it's been worn once. That's why washing machine manufacturers offer a quick wash program to just 'freshen' up your clothes, ie, get rid of an stretching in say a T-shirt, or joggers which may not actually need washing, but just need to be pulled back into shape. As long as you or your clothes don't smell, then I think that's fine.

If it’s not next to your skin you don’t really need to wash it unless you spill something on it or something I say! I have jumpers I have literally never washed! As another person said it’s wasteful to wash things if they don’t need it and makes the clothes last less long.

MN is the wrong place to ask this. There are posters on here who are obsessive about hygiene and think things should be disinfected if they have been within 10 feet of a human body. Who cares about making clothes last or the state of the planet?

I wash stuff when dirty or smelly, who counts how many times try are worn? If they pass the sniff test they go back in the wardrobe for another day
