I’ve recently lost a patent who lived and died abroad. I’m naturally upset yet I haven’t received a single sympathy card. I’m annoyed as when anyone looses anyone in my husbands side of the family a card, flowers etc are sent instantly. My MIL rushes out to make sure everyone sends a card. Some of the family haven’t even messaged me. I supposed to be attending a family event for my husbands side at the weekend it will be women only. I really feel like not going but am I being unreasonable?

i am very sorry for your loss. that’s really shit of them. What does your DH say? Are you south asian? sorta got the vibe that you are.
again, sorry you are going through this alone.

@MrsRAF sorry for your loss 😔
You are not being unreasonable x

MrsRAF · 23/03/2023 20:06

No not Asian. I think my DH is embarrassed by his families response. There was a birthday meal during the week that I missed so at first he said maybe they hadn’t heard but I cancelled so they all know. It’s my MIL I’m most upset by as we are really close yet I feel
like everyone else’s feelings are more considered than mine.
