Hello, I'm sorry if this post is meant to be in a different place, if it is you can just ignore it. I was wondering if anyone can give me advice about something. I get PIP that just started in Jan 2023, At the same time that I posted the forms regarding the PIP I also sent the forms for ESA, They were both sent recorded delivery. I am in the process of buying my husband out of his half of the house.To be able to get a mortgage as well as getting PIP I also have to be getting ESA. I spent 1 hour 53 minutes yesterday to be told they don't have any forms and I will have to re apply. She then put the phone down straight away, before I could even say they had been signed for. I was just wondering if anyone has any idea about what I should do next. I don't have a direct phone number, Does anyone have any idea what I should do next. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, also battling with ESA as the 2 tax years they want no nic paid due to hospital and surgeries, so have now paid the 2 year gap and having to re apply again, its so exhausting makes you want to give up but cant !

@Needwine999 💐
I've once again done part one of the application. I emailed the lady at the JC who was dealing with the last claim and asked her to look out for it again as she was lovely. It's a long slog, I've been 2 years dealing with it all 😒

@Mollylegs have you had any positive progress with your paperwork?
I've now resorted to asking my MP for help, I've been contacted today and they are going to contact the DWP. I've had 2 advisors telling me one thing and to do something and then yesterday another nippy advisor called me and said it was completely wrong and who advised this etc. I spent yesterday going between tears and being angry.
I'm glad someone is now helping and they are contacting the DWP for me.
It's disgusting we have to do this. Xx

Could you apply for Universal Credit instead?

I believe they also pay additional amounts for disability.

@Babyroobs I've found the DWP to be the most unhelpful and rude organisation, especially ESA. I waited nearly 2 hours on Friday on hold for someone to advise I had been added into the support group 2 weeks after my application was received. I didn't receive any correspondence. As I haven't paid enough NI for the relevant tax years relating to my claim I'm not due payment, he told me on the phone cancel and reapply in April. The letter he sent out dated the 31st of January is terrible, tells me nothing and doesn't mention the support group. 🙄 with PIP it was 2 years of lost forms, medical history and the worst assessment. I gave up at tribunal stage and applied for ADP which has gone smoothly. The system is broken.

What is ADP

What is ADP

Adult disability payment. It only applies in Scotland where i believe it has replaced PIP for new claims.
