Any opticians about? What does this mean?

I was recently told my optic nerve is pale looking - the optician sort of explained it but I really couldn’t follow it. But they also got someone else to look at it who couldn’t decide if it was pale or not.

I’ve tried to google it but I really can’t quite understand it. Does anyone know what a pale optic nerve means and wouldn’t mind explaining it? Is it because I’m a pale person?

thank you in advance. 👍🏻

Hiya - did you ever find out if it was pale and if so why? Going through the same myself but I've also got constant blurry vision in one eye

The official term would be ‘pallor’ it sometimes occurs after an incidence of inflammation - like optic neuritis, or with glaucoma for example. But sometimes, if tour vision is normal, the rest of the eye looks normal and there is no restriction in visual field / it’s just the way your particular eye looks.
