Not really, obviously, just gobsmacked at the brass neck. Who are these people? How do they get my name? How many friend requests do they send out in an average day? how many people respond to them? I thought I recognised him from a local hobby group, so accepted the request, but have unfriended him now.

Is this a full time job for some people?

Do they make a living out of it?

Should we all give it a go and stop worrying about UC, sick pay, salaries, and pay rises?

Who has contacted you? What became of it?

Is anyone on face book ever genuine?

The ones I got bugging me on Scrabble were all supposedly widows with children but oddly all worked offshore. I use a male name now and zero chancers bothering me. Wouldn't mind but they were all awful at Scrabble.

On Facebook, I get lots of military eg generals.
On Insta, it's Keanu Reeves; Liam Neeson, etc.

I seem to be very in demand by ex military, bearded, religious men who have been tragically widowed so despite being retired veterans have gone to Syria, Iraq, Kenya or similar in order to carry out peacekeeping using their medical/firefighting/intelligence skills.

They have left their children with their sister in the USA and miss them so much.

I usually chat for a while before blocking as I’m curious to see when they start asking for money. DP thinks it’s hilarious. He just gets big boobied Russian women who think he’s so beautiful.

I've had an orthodox priest friend request me on FB 😂 nothing untoward has occurred yet and no messages.

I have lived in DH's home country for nearly 20 years but still occasionally make British references without thinking including recently calling him a sexy Captain Birdseye. He was very non-plussed.

I have yet to meet a widowed American military surgeon but I do get a lot of women who are at least 20 years younger than me in tiny bikinis showing off their plumped up lips or bottoms. It's not a look that interests me and I don't know why they think a decidedly unglamorous middle-aged mum of 3 would be interested.

Oh I had an American soldier once. Asked him which regiment. He reeled something off that didn’t exist as far as I could see, so I invented a friend in Texas who’s DH was in the same company.
Would you believe it, he knew Sergeant Dex Dexter, he’d come across him a few times. I dripped it over several days, figured whilst I was keeping him on a string that was one less person he could con.

He seemed most affronted when I told him ol Dex wasn’t real 😂

I get lots of requests from handsome silver fox ex-Military widowers from the US. They don't seem to have any other friends or any posting history. Very strange. I'm sure they are genuine though and just lonely.
