…to feel ‘upset’ that the introduction of wolves to Belgium’ thread has been shut down?

I was really bloody enjoying it! Didn’t even care the soap was a ‘troll’ 😂 On the same vein…What other things would you like to see reintroduced? To Belgium or anywhere really?! 😉

Ah! Just caught up!

Can’t believe people are getting angry with the OP 😂

Squirrels are fun but a bit large to be really cute.

Chipmunks are about the size of a tennis ball (or a bit smaller) and can climb up my box hedge plants and sit on the top twigs looking around, they also have territory battles over my bird feeders and chirp loudly at each other and chase off the interlopers. They also like sitting in the sunshine and nibbling on seeds. I suppose you could liken them to hamsters that are good at gymnastics and very energetic.

SeaToSki · 21/03/2023 13:08

Humm. It looks like I quoted the wrong post, I was replying to @Trixiefirecracker post about squirrels and chipmunks

ComeTheFckOnBridget · 21/03/2023 13:20

Catching up with that thread now. Well done to the early spotter of our regular Water Troll! They do have a way of writing that gives it away in the first post if you're used to them.

ComeTheFckOnBridget · 21/03/2023 13:24

You can often see across the channel on clear days which means many wolves would have clear line of sight across the Strait of Dover

Beautiful 😍🤣

I also love how the op and husband fell in love over clearing a lake of crayfish. Richard Curtis eat your heart out.

Riapia · 21/03/2023 13:41

We know that the biggest percentage of threads on MN are works of fiction. Yet they pick on the most entertaining ones.

I enjoyed the bit about Belgium being land-locked.

Land-locked, and yet on a clear day the wolves would be able to see England across the English Channel and that might entice them to paddle across 😉

Damn, feels like I missed some top notch entertainment...
Belgium, landlocked 😂

I did see the title and was thinking something along the lines of 'Wolves, this is Belgium. It has some pretty nice woods, it's great at charcuterie, chocolate and chips, but you'll have to howl in at least two languages.'
Wolves: 'Yeah, we can do that'.

🤣 don't....I can't....😂

ShagratandGorbag4ever · 21/03/2023 14:08

Megalodon. The English Channel definitely needs more giant sharks.

I'd rather like to see woolly mammoths roaming the bogs of Ireland.

Be careful what you wish for. There's already been talk if resurrecting them!

While simultaneously being swimmable to the UK.

I want unicorns on Scotland. And dragons in Wales.

I want unicorns everywhere and maybe a griffin or two…

I enjoyed the bit about Belgium being land-locked.

Perhaps they meant Bedfordshire.

That's land-locked and begins with 'B'...

Allmyghosts · 21/03/2023 14:19

I think the water troll has ventured out to reddit, although the op was a lot more in depth, either that or there are two of them out there. Reddit being reddit there were some credulous and serious responses Grin

pointythings · 21/03/2023 14:19

We definitely need dragons. In the Terry Pratchett sense. They would be In Charge.

Laiste · 21/03/2023 14:26

I liked the ''all animals spend a bit of time underwater'' part.

I don't know why threads like that have to be locked/deleted. It was obvs light-hearted.

OP said she and her husband 'gradually' replaced all the water in a lake with branded bottled water fgs. I mean - it was meant to be a laugh and it was! 😂

Trixiefirecracker · 21/03/2023 14:28

@Laiste totally agree. It made my morning!

love water troll ❤

jcyclops · 21/03/2023 15:07

I hope nobody suggests reintroducing the sturgeon to Scotland 😏

justteanbiscuits · 21/03/2023 15:08

I was devastated to learn that Belgium is a land locked country from that thread

Wasn't there some apocryphal story about Queen Victoria sending the navy to Bolivia and no one wanted to tell her?

minou123 · 21/03/2023 11:35

I was lurking on that thread.

I particularly enjoyed the imagery of a bunch of wolves, stood on Beligum shoreline, eyeing up the 20km of sea theyll have to swim, to enter the UK illegally. 😁

Me too!

Visions of a pack of wolves saying to each other right! Who's going first then

Bolivia actually once had a Pacific coastline but lost it in a skirmish with Chile in 1879 so maybe old Queen Vic’s request wasn’t so daft. Although it would’ve been a lengthy journey !!
Thought the replies on the original Flemish Wolves thread was hilarious!!

cartagenagina · 21/03/2023 16:21

Fabulous thread.

I would love it if we had bears.

And raccoons. Lots of raccoons.
