…to feel ‘upset’ that the introduction of wolves to Belgium’ thread has been shut down?

I was really bloody enjoying it! Didn’t even care the soap was a ‘troll’ 😂 On the same vein…What other things would you like to see reintroduced? To Belgium or anywhere really?! 😉

I was lurking on that thread.

I particularly enjoyed the imagery of a bunch of wolves, stood on Beligum shoreline, eyeing up the 20km of sea theyll have to swim, to enter the UK illegally. 😁

GerundTheBehemoth · 21/03/2023 11:37

Ankylosaur and macronarian sauropod fossils have been found near where I live. I would like to see them back. I feel like they could replace the rather unreliable local bus service.

It’s locked but it’s still here.

Thanks, I misunderstood, I thought it had been removed.

Don't worry, it was the water troll. She'll be back.

I hope so, it’s harmless fun and I don’t understand why it’s deleted, it’s not really trolling more entertainment.

Ciri · 21/03/2023 11:42

They're always the same. They start off being about some random thing (we've had bison, shoes, wolves etc) and then very quickly turn into something connected to water in some way and then the real craziness starts. I personally think the poster is genuinely unstable rather than trying to be entertaining.

🤣I need to re-read it.

I think we have too many species as it is and think we should get rid of a few. I’d go for pigeons, most rodents, and sloths. I don’t mind sloths but let’s face it, they do fuck all. Not entertaining in any way.

@minou123 oh come on, I'm sure wolves can manage a small boat. We can arrange to meet them on the beach, take them to Westminster and tell them they can eat Suella Braverman.

Nay to abolishing rodents and sloths. Pigeons I am ok with, though they are tasty.

Lamelie · 21/03/2023 11:51

Gutted to have missed it! Whenever I think of Belgium I remember driving from Calais to Holland with teenage DD who was incensed that there was another country in the way. We passed Antwerp, she was very unimpressed, slightly mellowed when we stopped in Bruges for supper but still very disapproving.

Not sloths! We need to keep them, mainly just for their ears.

You haven't missed it. MN saw how much people were enjoying it and decided to leave it up, albeit with comments closed. It's hilarious!

I'll look after all the sloths. I'd even like to bring back extinct giant sloths.

Parakeets can go though. Noisy little green gits.

MatildaJayne · 21/03/2023 11:56

As a side issue, the beavers introduced in Ealing were called Sigourney Beaver and Justin Beaver, but sadly Justin died.

Trixiefirecracker · 21/03/2023 12:06

@MatildaJayne Damn! That’s funny! 😂

I'd like any kind of man eating animals running about to make camping a bit more exciting

Trixiefirecracker · 21/03/2023 12:29

A megladon or two would make the average fishing trip a bit more exciting, or even getting the ferry over to Belgium…oh no! I forgot it was landlocked. 😂

Oh no! Was reading that thread until I had to get ready for work.

I had got to the bit about the wolves crossing the 20km Dover Strait.

What happened after that?

pointythings · 21/03/2023 12:41

I'm reading the original thread now. Comedy gold. Really, it belongs in Classics, but that might send the wrong signal to OP.

SeaToSki · 21/03/2023 12:42

I have a beaver family living at the end of my driveway (I'm in the US). They are very cool and are v agile in the water and can swim really fast. I do have to keep moving small trees and shrubs out of the stream that runs under my drive as if they block that bit, I will be cut off with the flood waters. It adds a bit of crazy to my ‘home maintenance’ jobs 🤣

I think we should introduce chipmunks to the UK. They are very like Chip and Dale in real life and are good entertainment for the dc when I want them to get off their devices

Ktime · 21/03/2023 12:42

Ah! Just caught up!

Can’t believe people are getting angry with the OP 😂

We have squirrels which seem basically the same. Everyone wants to get rid of the grey ones here though. I imagine that will happen at some point and then we will reintroduce them once the red population explodes. 😉

Shame it's gone, I was reading it about 1am, bet I missed loads

TheyclosedmyCosta · 21/03/2023 13:07

Agree. It was obviously a wind up but harmless and amusing.
