I have a three year old and a two week old.

I got up at 5am with both kids, made my own coffee and breakfast.

Husband went food shopping late morning and brought me home a sad looking potted plant? but no card.

Could he not have just made me a coffee this morning and got the 3 y/o to make me a card and I'd have felt somewhat thought about.

Friends and family have had breakfast in bed, meals out, weekends away! And all I got was a very late potted plant, another thing to look after 🙈

Make as little effort for him on Father's Day.

that is shit but I never understand why expectations aren't managed before the event with these things.

Why hadn't you said last night, so I would like a lie-in in the morning please. Sorted.

RE presents I would hope that you would have an understanding, spoken about years ago, when first baby came along, about what sort of things you would like to be given or to happen on mother's/father's day.

Never leave it to chance! And why the hell did you get up?????

FFS Hmm

PS I'm sorry your mother's day was shit, he should think about you without you having to take on the mental load of directing him.
