I support them.

Just thought I'd let people know to get their applications in ASAP.

I don't know who funds what, but it is worth critically examining press claims that wfh is making people less efficient, particularly when unverified. Remember that a lot of newspaper sales are people out and about for work and commutes.

One would assume that even if they are working from home they are jolly efficient now as current passport waiitng times are usually pretty quick. The info here is self reported but I’ve always found it to be fairly accurate. www.passportwaitingtime.co.uk/#times

funded by tories

evidence of this? Or just your strong belief?

Sorry I misspoke in a way.
The press fund the tories in turn for political favours. So they help each other out, and the political favours make the press owners richer and richer. So that’s how they fund them - Murdoch is a good example of this.
BBC chairman securing Boris a nice sum for the job ring any bells?
I did misspeak, but you seem very naive and petulant.

You sound like an unhinged conspiracy lover

Anti-vaccer?! 😂

Nah babes I’ve had them all and all the boosters - where on earth did you get that idea from? 😂 You’re making shit up bc of you know you’re wrong.

Where have I mentioned a conspiracy, please?

Are you trying to say the BBC chairman didn’t secure boris the loan? It’s literally all over the news. 🧌

Lovelyveg82 · 21/03/2023 06:15

Conspiracy theorists don’t generally see their views as being “conspiracies” 😂

Lovelyveg82 · 21/03/2023 06:15

They see it as the truth!

On the passport application topic, I applied online on Saturday morning, my application has been approved today so hopefully will be dispatched next week

WhereIsMyRefund · 28/03/2023 11:07

Update.

Submitted renewal on 17th March when the strike was announced.
New passport received today.

They are clearly working hard.

catgirl1976 · 28/03/2023 14:34

I submitted mine, DH's and DS's on 18 March just after the strikes were announced and they have all been printed. Mine is with DHL for delivery and DHs and Ds's are ready to be sent to the courier. Fingers crossed everyone has such a good experience (and that DHL deliver them safely - not counting my chickens just yet)

Sunbird24 · 28/03/2023 16:01

Mine took 9 days from applying online to landing through my letterbox. Really happy with my shiny new UK passport!

healthadvice123 · 30/03/2023 01:12

People saying apply 6 months in advance etc , not always possible some have to travel for work etc
i applied with 13 weeks to go before holiday as earliest could due to work flight, the advice was takes upto 10 weeks ( but many were getting before) so i had a few weeks leeway, now may not even get it in time thats £4000 down the drain, not rich just covid holiday moved on and one saved for over several years
10 weeks is too long really for basic renewal , target times are poor anyway and now will be even worse.
is the goverment even showing any signs of negotiating ?
didn’t realise the pay was so poor, I work in private sector and on a tiny bit more but as they put the word administrator on end of job description that brings the salary down a lot , and ifs way more than just an administrator as I expect it is working for passport office.

healthadvice123 · 02/04/2023 21:01

well got confirmation 2 out of 4 printed and being sent so turned around quite quickly
concerned with others though as child to adult passport and was only asked to send in old passports and no other doca or signatorys , double checked and said yes just send in whats asked once applied online , all sent together and 2 processed others not so now expecting to be asked for more paperwork which I could of sent in to start with

LadyLindaT · 02/04/2023 21:07

I made the mistake of declaring that I had dual nationality when renewing my UK passport. They now also want my other passport. I am worried about hurling another valid passport into the abyss whilst they are on strike. Very stressed.
