Tween/teen shower

Aibu to get 12 and 14 year old to shower every day? At the moment it’s a battle to get them to do it every other day, particularly the younger one. Am thinking of just saying have one every day. Younger one is really starting to smell now but is kicking up a fuss and saying she doesn’t need one and pretending she had one the day before etc. I thought it would be easier to just say have one every day, both of you. Sorry for inane question, perimenopausal brain is preventing me from simple decision making! Is it normal for tweens/teens to shower every day? Help me!

My 12 year old showers after sportstraining, which is every other day.
Showering everyday is not good for the skin, not necessary, bad for the environment. Not so long ago people would only go into the tub once a week.

I make my 12 and 13 year olds shower every other day and every day if they’ve been doing something sweaty.

If she smells then you need to get her showering every day. It's antisocial for other people otherwise. Also, her peers will notice and maybe take the mick.

I had to tell DD that she was smelly at that age and that she needed to shower more frequently. She's 16 now and doesn't shower every day anymore (time of the month excepted) but since her hormones have calmed down, she never smells.
