Bullying boss

I don't want to get into anything identifying my boss has picked at everything I do and it got so bad I was feeling suicidal. I tried to leave and resigned and was asked to reconsider by higher up and I did but bullying started again now and I don't know what to do. I've been there 15 years new person 1 year. I flagged their behaviour which is when this started. Other people have had issues too but it's being ignored. Should I quit? Stick it out? I work in an office.

I could have stayed there my whole career it really socks. Just waiting for checks for new job worried I resigned too soon but have a provisional start date in May.

It's public I'm going now and one of boss friends asked questions about why I was going and said he hadn't seen the behaviour I mentioned. But I've spoken to 2 other guys who had (one who is currently in the process of having job checks). Makes me feel like I'm imaging it even though I'm not.

You don’t need to explain yourself to people questioning why you’re leaving or whether things happened or not.

There isn't a chance they'll interfere with references is there? A previous colleague had their reference sabotaged and they lost a job as a result.
