Is anyone else fed up with threads that have so many confusing abbreviations on them ? Just write in English for heavens sake . If it’s not dh, ds , dc, dm, nc , lc , tc , bil, and on and on and on .

DH - is that direct husband, dickhead husband , divorced husband , deluded husband , or damaged husband. It’s crackers .
The other day I saw a thread that had -
GSD ! So what’s that ?
Gravy so divine?
Good solid decking ?
Or guilty sexy dance ?
No , it turns out to be , German Shepherd Dog !!!! Of course it was , I should of known 😂
Just write normal !

Ddog and dcat always make me laugh, because why??? They're not abbreviations so what's the point?

However, this is the internet, wherever you go there's going to be a shorthand, yes it's often cringe on Mumsnet but oh well. Here we all are anyway.

But regarding the acronyms, if I hadn't worked out, for example, that people interchangeably use 'GF' for 'good friend', goady fucker', 'girl friend', and 'grandfather', I'd have been extremely worried about what sort relationships some people were involved in. 😮
