Benidorm???

I was chatting to my partner at the weekend.

We have been together 2 years.

We were chatting about friends and weddings/stag/hen dos etc.

I mentioned that I was going to start planning my sisters but will probably make contact in with her friends around August / September time to discuss hen do. He asked why I need to meet friends 9 months before wedding to discuss. I said it would most likely be abroad and to give people time to plan / save if they want to come along.

He then asked where I would go, I reminded him that no discussions have taken place yet but I imagine itll be somewhere like Benidorm or Magaluf purely for a booze up and clubs!

He then got annoyed and said people only go to Benidorm for one thing only. I laughed as I have been to benidorm many times and havent slept with anyone!

He couldnt believe why I would want to go somewhere that is popular for people sleeping with each other. He said stag dos will no doubt chat us up. I said so what? If they do they will be told to jog on. He then told me that he trusts me but not others. I told him that he has to trust me. Saying you dont trust others is a cop out. Now he is in a mood and says I am disrepecting our relationship for even thinking about going somewhere like that....

Please enlighten me... does Benidorm have some sort of seedy reputation that I am unaware of?!????

Yes, Benidorm doesn't have the greatest reputation. Its considered a bit sleezy, but then thats probably because its where alot of young people go for partying, which is what you want to be doing. Hence why alot of stag and hens go there!

Perhaps he has been himself and saw exactly how the blokes he went with behaved and is worried you'll encounter the same shit.

However, he has to trust that you can look after yourself and are not going for the same reason his mates possibly did. I'd just reassure him, thats all you can do, then maybe he'll calm down about it all before it actually happens.

Ive been to benidorm countless times as my friend lives there. Its got something for everyone and is predominantly older people having harmless fun.
Tbf if you wanted a shag you could find it anywhere. Benidorm is not the problem here.

He either trusts you or he doesn't. It sounds like he doesn't.

In the same way a female poster posting that she didn't want her male partner going to Benidorm would be told 'You either trust him or you don't'.

If there's no trust there's no relationship IMO.

I’ve been to Benidorm both for a couples holiday and a hen.

it’s a great place for both. And it really annoys me when people slate a place when most of the time they’ve never been.

I have been, couldn’t leave fast enough.

i love benidorm and literally wouldn't go anywhere else on holiday. i've never ever wanted to crank it up a notch with someone i've met on holiday.
has he ever been to benidorm? where i stay it's lovely and away from all the massive pubs and britishness and people who say they hate it then that's on them.

Well it's a bit full of stereotypical 'Brits abroad' behaviour and pubs - but my mum has just come back from a week there - didn't get shagged once - I mean she's 77 but still!

Lots of nice places near by to visit - interesting fact - I had my appendix removed there!

In short your partner is being a bit of a dick

Bingo. Whats with judging people? People like different things. You dont have to voice your opinion on those things. Most people who slag off benidorm havent been

@21ZIGGY I’ve been. Full of tacky British boozers, Football pubs everywhere. Fat bald men with beer bellies, no top and tats everywhere. High rise dated blocks everywhere.

It’s like someone took the very worst of Blackpool in the 1970s and transported it to a sunnier location.
