I'm stressed. Over the weekend we've managed to get our money (in our business) out of Silicon Valley Bank in the states which has now gone into receivership, and into another bank which looks like it might be going the same way. We've tried to get it out in an instant payment but it's not come through.
If the bank collapses we will only be able to get 1/10th of it back.
When I was younger it never entered my head that money wasn't safe in a bank. Actually money in the bank is actually an IOU from them.
What else can we do with large sums of money that keeps it liquid?
