…I probably am, but need readers 🙏🏻…
Last year from Jan to Dec inclusive, I was self taking prescribed anti CGRP (to prevent migraines) injections.
The first dose in January was a double (took two jabs) one, because that’s how this particular brand of anti CGRP works… from then on it was just a single jab per month
I was advised that in January 23, I should not take the jab, as for a tiny (3 to 4%) percentage of users, find that the migraines don’t return.
So having taken that non negotiable advice, I have gone back on the jabs… I restarted 1/3/23.
However, I was not advised to re start with a double dose as I did in ‘22, and I didn’t think to question it in my conversation with the specialist.
So I’m upset now, because the restart hasn’t given me the degree of relief that I enjoy from the get go last year.
I have tried a few times (at different days) to get to speak to the specialist, but each time I do, they are not working that day, and there’s no one else to advise me, I was told.
My last advice o Friday just gone was to try again on Tuesday.
I know that’s not far off, but it could turn out that I only get the secretary who can only take a message for me to receive a call back when specialist is available.
I’m hoping a mumsnetter out there that is on the same treatment and maybe could give me their opinion?
Having the migraine attacks return is horrible and makes me so anxious that going forward I won’t get the relief I had (minus a blip in July for a week) last year.
Many thanks in advance to any responders.

during the time you weren’t on them… did the migraines return?

i'm on Ajovy for migraine and they tried to make me have a 'month off'. I had a weapons grade melt down and told them I would NOT stop taking the ajovy. it gives me relief. I had 25 migraine days a month in 2020, now down to 15. for me that's miraculous. So send them a letter on paper copied to your GP and ask to be seen. xxx
